Baby Loss Awareness week is being marked on the island from October 9 to 15.
This year it will highlight the isolation many people experience after pregnancy and the loss of a baby.
To publicise the issue, many companies will be illuminating their buildings pink and blue as a mark of respect y.
There will be information displays at Noble’s Hospital and in the Strand Shopping Centre.

Live updates as schools and airport shut amid icy conditions across Isle of ManIt is a joint initiative between the Department of Health and Social Care’s midwifery team, the Forget Me Not Bereavement team, Tabitha’s Trust, Arlo’s Adventure, Sleeping Angel Wood and Little Piece of Hope.
A tree of remembrance will be unveiled at the bereavement room of the Jane Crookall maternity unit at Noble’s Hospital at 2pm on Thursday, October 15, with names added later of the babies who were ’born asleep’.
Designed by artist Beth Louella and funded by local corporate service provider IQ EQ (Isle of Man) Limited.
Parents are welcome to attend but must email [email protected] or get in touch if they would like to attend at another time.
A Wave of Light ceremony will be held at 7pm on Thursday, October 15, on Douglas Promenade organised by local charity Little Piece of Hope. There will also be a service of remembrance on Monday, December 28, at St Thomas’ Church.
