The mountain road has now reopened following an accident earlier today (Tuesday). The accident was described as 'serious' and an accident investigation has been taking place. One rider has also been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury as a result of their riding, while another has been taken to hospital for treatment.

Accidents have been reported at Kate’s Cottage today and the road was shut from the Bungalow to the Creg-ny-Baa after a motorcyclist slid off at the 33rd Milestone. It was also closed from Ramsey Hairpin to the Bungalow after an accident at the Verandah.

All motorists are also being reminded that the mountain road is one way between Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg-ny-Baa. Police also say weather conditions are poor with wet and slippery road surfaces and limited visibility in places.
