A Manx artist is displaying his artwork in a gallery in Guernsey.
Jeremy Paul’s wildlife paintings are being exhibited at the Coach House Gallery in St Pierre du Bois from August 30 to September 24.
The 30 paintings being displayed at the gallery show a variety of wildlife scenes including birds, the seaside and wild animals.
Mr Paul said he has been exhibiting at the gallery every couple of years for the last two decades but with Covid-19, he was concerned this year may not go ahead.
He added: ’My aim as a wildlife artist is not merely to illustrate but to impart the atmosphere of the setting and the feel of the wildlife in its natural environment.
’I spend many hours in the field observing wildlife and looking for settings and lighting to inspire an idea for a painting.’
While living on the Isle of Man, Mr Paul has travelled extensively to study wildlife and obtain reference material for paintings, with trips to Africa, India, Madagascar and the Polar regions.
He has exhibited in the prestigious ’Birds in Art’ and his paintings are in the permanent collection of The Woodson Art Museum, Wisconsin USA as well as ’Nature in Art’, Gloucester UK.
His work has been used on postage stamps and a book of his paintings were published in 2013, he also won BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
