The Harbour2Harbour walk took place on Sunday and saw its youngest participant, Alisha Gelling, complete the course.
Alisha, aged five, had been training hard for the event with her brother Shane, who is seven.
Even mum, Lexi, was surprised by their determination. She said: ’They’ve been going along the promenade and up into Onchan most days and walking the dogs in Molly Quirk’s Glen and really enjoying it. I’m really proud of them.’
The family-friendly event, which raises money for a number of local charities, offered particpants two routes to choose from. The first from the former Marine Biological Centre in Port Erin and finishing in the town square at Castletown, covered nine miles and the second, starting from the RNLI building in Port St Mary, around six miles. Alisha completed the shorter route.
