An iconic singer from the world of electronic, pop and soul music has been announced to appear on the Isle of Man later this year.
Alison Moyet will play her first island concert at the Royal Hall, Villa Marina on Sunday, July 14.
Alison has just embarked on a UK-wide tour, playing alongside Tears For Fears, which will see her appear at such venues as the SSE Arena in Glasgow, the First Direct arena in Leeds and the 02 in London.
She has also just completed a European tour, which brought to an end her extensive world tour.
This saw Alison and her backing band performing in America, Canada, New Zealand and Australia in support of her latest album, ’Other’.
Alison first appeared as the lead singer in the ground-breaking electro-pop duo Yazoo, alongside future Erasure member Vince Clark, in 1983, and scored a huge hit with ’Only You’.
She then embarked on a hugely successful solo career that has seen her release nine solo albums, appear as one of the acts at Live Aid, and top the charts with the anthemic soulful ballad ’All Cried Out’.
She has also recently released a live album, ’The other Live Collection’, recorded during her world tour.
Tickets, which go on sale today (Friday), from 10am, are priced at £32.50, and are available from the Welcome Centre and the Villa Marina box office, on 600555, or online from villagaiety.com
