The 112th anniversary of the SS Ellan Vannin’s tragic sinking will be marked next Friday, December 3 in Ramsey.
At 6.30pm, there will be a short service on the town’s East Quay, adjacent to the Ellan Vannin memorial plaque, which is opposite the Commercial Hotel.
Father Brian O’Mahony will lead prayers.
The names of those who perished will be read out and wreathes will be laid in their memory.
In the event of inclement weather, the service will take place inside the town’s catholic church.
l Northern Athletics Club will be holding a Santa Dash in Mooragh Park, Ramsey at 10am on Saturday, December 18 to raise funds for the Isle of Man Foodbank.
Later that day, Ramsey Town Band will lead carol singing outside the Courthouse from 4.30pm.
