It’s another big weekend for Ramsey Pier this weekend - weather permitting - when replacement beams are craned into position.

A team from IoM Heavy Crane Services will be on hand to lift new wooden beams onto the pier’s first bay, and remove the old beams from the second bay.

Replacement steel for bay 1, installed over a bank holiday weekend in May, is now painted and the stripping of rotten timber from bay 2 is nearly complete.

A trust spokesman said: ’Heavy Cranes will once again be helping us so come down for a skeet. It’s certainly worth watching in action!’

The trust has all the materials to complete the first bay but is still waiting for all the cast iron grids to be returned from being refurbished.
