The Manx Lottery Trust is inviting applications from charities and organisations for a grant towards projects which aim to tackle early and preventative action and improve the lives of local people.

The trust, as delegated partner of the National Lottery Community Fund, has £150,000 on offer, with grants available from £2,501 to a maximum of £50,000 in any one year.

The theme for this year’s funding is ’Acting Early, Changing Lives’.

Manx Lottery Trust chairman Sarah Kelly said: ’The trustees wanted to provide opportunity for as many different organisations, small and large, to submit an application and felt that this theme could be applied in many life situations.

’By increasing the funding for acting early projects it is hoped this will bring about a reduction in the levels of preventable need. We would urge organisations to collaborate where possible and come forward with projects which enable them to work in partnership to develop locally owned solutions.’
