Overall arrests made across the TT fortnight increased by 17% to 148.

Police said the adverse weather and race cancellations contributed to busier town centres and the number of drink-related arrests being made.

In total, there were 148 arrests during the TT, up from 126 last year.

This year the force focused on identifying potential issues at an early stage and this led to a doubling in public order arrests from 12 to 24.

There were 37 arrests for drunkenness, the same number as last year.

Assaults were up three, from 20 to 23 and there was an increase in arrests for drugs offences, up from 17 during TT 2018 to 26 this year.

Drink-drive related arrests, however, were down from 13 to 10 for TT 2019.

The number of people dealt with for going on to closed roads dropped from nine to six in 2019.

Police said a series of de-briefs would now be conducted before work towards planning any policing improvements for MGP and TT 2020.
