Some of the island’s artisan crafters opened the doors to their studios and workshops for a seasonal craft market last weekend.

The artists and producers who work out of the Grenaby Arts Studios, in Ballabeg, demonstrated their skills, showed off their wares and gave examples of how they created their products at the Spring Fling market, which took place on Saturday, March 30.

Wood turner Graham Hall kept onlookers entertained and he whittled and chiselled away, turning unsightly lumps of wood into smooth, hand-crafted bowls, and Claire Pearse, from the ’ElementIsle’ studio, showed how she crafted beautiful pieces of melted jewellery from raw lumps of silver.

Bryony Manning decorated the visitors with eye-catching henna tattoos, while mosaic artists Debra Tracey displayed some of her glass work and Alice Rose Fayle had a collection of her clothes on show.

Elsewhere Juliet Petrarulo chatted to onlookers as she painted.

Refreshments were provided by Flo the coffee van, who kept the visitors well-fed.
