The sun shone on Saturday on what was undoubtedly the quirkiest event to take place this year.
The Hounds Hurdle at Great Meadow featured the Isle of Man Bloodhounds pack racing against each other over a 450-metre course.
Being the last weekend of social distancing it meant a small audience attending the event but it was filmed from a following quad bike and live streamed on the IOM Bloodhounds Facebook page.
The result was a close run thing: Bear was well in the lead but stopped for a sniff a few yards from the finish line leaving Badger to take the crown. Mr Bongo was third.
Angel, the pre-race favourite, took fright at the cheers and hoots of laughter from the spectators by the finishing line and turned tail and ran back over the course to the start.
Following the main race the children and their pet dogs had their own race down the course.
It was all good clean fun and a great way to greet the ending of lockdown and get out and about at an event once again.
â?¢ The film of the race is still available to view on IOM Bloodhounds Facebook page.
