A million-selling Scottish singer and song writer has her eyes fixed firmly on a successful return to touring in 2021.
Barbara Dickson is set to return to the Isle of Man for a concert at the Gaiety Theatre on Sunday, March 28, 2021, as part of her latest UK tour, which kicks off in early spring next year, by which time it is hoped that things will have returned to something of a normality.
The tour will be a look back and tribute to her 50-year career in music and will cover her time from being one of the leading lights of the Scottish folk revival in the late 1960s through to being a star of the stage in productions such as ’Blood Brothers’ and topping the UK charts with songs such as ’Answer Me’, ’Another Suitcase in Another Hall’, ’The Caravan Song’ and ’I Know Him So Well’, taken from the musical, ’Chess’, sung with Elaine Paige.
Barbara is also aiming to have her latest album, ’Time Is Going Faster’, released by the end of 2020.
’I’m really excited about the prospect of playing live again on the "Time is Going Faster" tour next year,’ said Barbara.
’As we wait for our lives to resume again, it’s good to have something tangible to plan for.
’We’ll be playing a mix of hits, some of my own favourites and some tracks from my new album which will be out in time for the tour.
’I can’t wait to be playing live again, after this year’s crisis and shutdown.
’Like everyone, I want it to be over, and us all back to being able to enjoy life again as soon as possible.
’Music feeds the soul and we’re all in need of a pick-me-up.’
