The BBC has announced it will no longer be providing free tv licences to those over 75, unless they are in possession of benefits.
Under an agreement with Tynwald, the BBC is funding free licences for Manx residents over the age of 75 until December 31 2020.
However, today the organisation has confirmed this will end, with a new policy being introduced from January 1 to only provide free licences to those who receive income support.
We will have more coverage in Tuesday’s Isle of Man Examiner.
