Beach Buddies is inviting the people of Douglas to get involved in a community clean-up this morning (Saturday) to remove large amounts of rubbish from the Mona Drive area of the town.

In conjunction with Douglas Borough Council, volunteers will set about removing all sorts of items dumped by the public over an estimated five years.

The local authority and Beach Buddies will both be providing equipment, and the council are bringing a refuse wagon to take the rubbish away afterwards.

The event takes place between 10am and 12 noon and free refreshments will be provided afterwards for all volunteers at the nearby Welbeck Hotel, courtesy and Michael and Irene George.
