The return of the Ben-my-Chree to Manx waters has been delayed.
During routine inspections of the Steam Packet ferry in dry dock, the stern tube bearings were found to be worn more than expected, the company says.
Although the wear is within tolerances, the opportunity has been taken to address this.
Due to these unplanned works, and the necessity to source a company with immediate capacity to carry out the works, the docking will be extended by about six days.
The Ben-my-Chree is expected to return to services on Thursday, May 13, starting with the 8.45am sailing.
Until then, fast craft Manannan will continue to operate daytime passenger services and MV Arrow will undertake a Freight Only service overnight.
The Steam Packet is also warning of possible disruption due to the weather.
The following sailings are subject to possible disruption or cancellation.
Douglas to Heysham Monday, May 3, at 8:45am
Heysham to Douglas Monday, May 3, at 2.15pm.
A final decision will be made by the Master by 7am on Monday morning.
