A Ramsey man recently celebrated his 70th birthday by raising £820 for the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association.

Bill Bevan asked for donations instead of presents and organised a party at the Empress Hotel for his friends.

The charity’s treasurer, Howard Pilley, and executive officer, Sandy Denning, thanked Bill and all the guests who attended the celebration and made a donation to the charity.
