A top UK blues and soul singer is to stop off for a concert on the Isle of Man, shortly before heading out on tour.
Kyla Brox is to perfrom an acoustic show at the Basement Bar, Wellington Street, Douglas on Saturday, July 6, from 7.30pm.
Organised by 3FM, Kyla is appearing on the island at the start of her 2019 tour, which will take in venues across the UK and Europe.
Described as the finest British blues singer of her generation, Kyla is touring in support of her new album ’The Pain and the Glory, released earlier this year, to critical acclaim, with one review stating that the new release ’marks her ascendancy to the very first rank of British singers’.
She was the winner of the 2018 UK Blues Challenge, after which she represented the UK in Memphis at the 2019 International Blues Challenge.
She has also recently won the title of 2019 European Blues singer.
Having began her career touring and singing with her father, the cult blues singer Victor Brox, when she was just 12 years old, the Mancunian then went on to form her own group, releasing six albums and one live album since 2006.
Following her concert in Douglas, Kyla will appear at many international festival dates, including the Upton Blues festival, the Santa Maria Blues festival in the Azores and the wonderfully-named Hell Blues Fest in Norway.
Tickets for Kyla Brox are priced at £18.93, and are available from eventbrite.co.uk
