Schools and libraries are being given copies of a book that depicts and celebrates the island’s UNESCO Biosphere.
’Ellyn: A Tale of Manx Contemporary Art’ is being given to every school and public library in the Isle of Man by the UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man team and the Arts Council.
Clare Barber MHK, Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture, presented a copy of the book to St John’s Primary School.
She said: ’Under its local strategy, "working together for a sustainable future", UNESCO Biosphere encourages us to appreciate all that is special about our biosphere and celebrate it creatively. The Ellyn project is a great example of that. I hope it will be a useful resource for teachers as they encourage children to celebrate our biosphere.’
