There will be bright spells and scattered showers today.

The Met Office forecast for Thursday: ‘‘Rain at first this morning will clear around dawn, leaving bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, which will die away this afternoon.

‘Windy with a strong west to northwest wind, touching gale force in exposed spots at first, before gradually turning to the southwest and easing later this afternoon with highs of 9 or 10°C.

‘Rain will return later this evening but will clear towards dawn tomorrow morning. The moderate to fresh southwest wind will quickly veer to the west and become strong later tonight, with lowest temperature around 5°C.’
