Broadway’s junction with Harris Promenade in Douglas will re-open to traffic from Sunday, November 3.
Works undertaken as part of the promenade refurbishment scheme have been completed for the time being.
However, more work will take place later in the project. The intention is to build a roundabout at the bottom of Broadway.
From Sunday, new services and a new pedestrian crossing will be in place. The traffic lights will be replaced by a stop line and sign.
Drivers will be able to make either right or left turns.
More work will take place later in the project to create a roundabout here.
At the same time changes are being made to the junction of Church Road Marina at Greensill’s Corner as work progresses on the installation of a new water main.
Vehicles heading south along the promenade will no longer be able to turn right at this junction. These works will continue for up to three weeks.
Drivers wishing to access Church Road Marina or Market Street from the promenade should approach the junction by travelling north along Loch Promenade.
The north-bound taxi rank, disabled parking spaces and bus stop in front of the Sefton Hotel will not be affected.
