The planning committee has turned down an application for a housing development on a former builders’ yard in the area of Ramsey Shipyard.
Wardsley Ltd applied to build 12 properties with car parking and gardens in Templar Terrace/Gibson Street. It was refused on grounds that ’the layout and overall density, coupled with the lack of open space, would create a cramped form of development that would unacceptably harm the character of its surroundings’.
The committee was also concerned about the increase of traffic.
