Proposed industrial action by bus drivers next week has been called off.
Unite the Union has agreed to suspend its planned industrial action to enable negotiations to continue with representatives of its bus driving staff and the government’s Department of Infrastructure.
A meeting is taking place on Monday through the mediation of the Manx Industrial Relations Service.
A statement from the DoI said: ’The department is committed to working with all parties to resolve the issue regarding bus drivers’ holiday entitlement and to maintain services for the travelling public.’
The island’s bus services are provided by a state-owned operation, Bus Vannin.
