Bus Vannin has warned passengers to expect possible disruption to services again this weekend amid continued high levels of staff absence.

The operator said the potential disruption could affect services on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, with updates expected from late this afternoon and throughout the weekend.

It comes after Bus Vannin warned of disruption last weekend following an increase in staff sickness, with some services affected from Saturday afternoon and throughout Sunday.

In its latest update, Bus Vannin said: ‘With continued high levels of staff absence Bus Vannin would like to raise early awareness of potential disruption this weekend.’

The operator said its team was ‘working hard to ensure service provision is covered and any disruption is minimised’.

It added that social media channels would be updated ‘at the earliest opportunity from late this afternoon onward’ and throughout the weekend.

Bus Vannin also thanked staff who were working to maintain services, including drivers who were volunteering to work additional hours where possible.

It said: ‘We would like to thank the team that are working around the clock to ensure coverage is completed and to the drivers out there that are stepping forward to go the extra mile if they can.’

Bus Vannin said passengers’ ‘patience and support is appreciated during this period’.
