A finance sector company has paid £3,000 to help a Children’s Centre project.

Zedra, based in Upper Church Street, recently heard a presentation from Fiona Dawson and Mary Doyle from The Children’s Centre, and voted to support one project that really inspired them, the ’Pathway for Children’ project.

The charity’s outreach team helps children and young people through a range of workshops and activities over a 12-week period.

Some of the challenges children and young people experience are domestic issues, bullying, antisocial behaviour, self-identity, parenting issues, crime and social isolation and this project aims to build resilience, promote wellbeing and enable families to achieve positive outcomes and brighter futures.

The project will be delivered in the community and at the charity’s unique setting of their Community Farm where the aim is to promote, health, wellbeing and respect in both our community and the natural landscapes that sustain us. Session are naturally cooperative, physical and fun, in vibrate and positive settings.

Alan Patrick, managing director of Zedra, said: ’We are really impressed by the work The Children’s Centre does and how the "Pathway for Children" project makes a significant impact on the lives of children and young people, and hope that Zedra’s donation will make a real difference.

’Our donation of £3,000 will cover the costs of four children or young people attending the tailored made ’Pathway for Children Project’ over a 12 week period’.

Fiona Dawson, chief executive for The Children’s Centre, added: ’I would like to thank the staff of Zedra for voting for this much needed project and really appreciate their wonderful support and for partnering with us to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people in the Isle of Man.’

Zedra’s staff have also supported a number of the charity’s events including the rounders tournament and the annual Race the Sun challenge event.
