Nearly 100 eager job hunters turned up at an island hotel after bank Santander International announced plans to recruit staff for more than 20 permanent positions at its Douglas office on Prospect Hill.

The event, in the Garden Room at the Sefton Hotel, was held across two sessions and was well attended by those interested in a career with the bank.

Santander International said the roles were across several different levels within payment operations and financial crime, and there were also vacancies in the account opening team, contact centre and branch.

John Pearson, managing director of Santander International in the Isle of Man, said: ’We’re delighted with the number of people who came along to our recruitment sessions.

’Most importantly the calibre of candidates was fantastic and goes to show the quality of people we have on the Isle of Man.’
