Jennifer Houghton, a former island business person of the year, has a new job.

Video interview software developer The Needle has announced her appointment as non-executive director.

Jennifer Houghton is joining the team immediately.

For several years Jennifer held the position of managing director of Annexio, a thriving secondary lottery company.

She was with Annexio when she scooped the prestigious business person of the year title atIsle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence.

Jennifer is a multi-lingual board advisor and qualified accountant who has worked as a managing director, company secretary, MLRO (money laundering reporting officer) and other positions.

Jennifer also forged a successful career in California, Luxembourg and Sweden before the Isle of Man.

She has also been a longstanding committee member of the Institute of Directors, Isle of Man Branch.

The Needle’s CEO and co-Founder Christine Tautari said: ’This was an easy appointment to make.

’Jennifer has extensive experience within finance and technology start-ups which is where we see clear benefits of bringing Jennifer onboard.

’We are also looking at maintaining our current growth and looking at new sources of finance, two areas that Jennifer has had considerable success in previous roles and we welcome this expertise to The Needle.

’We have some exciting plans for the coming year and look forward to Jennifer helping us achieve our goals.’

The Needle is based at Nadine House, North Quay, Douglas.

The Needle supplies video interviewing technology to employers and agency recruitment teams in the UK, Isle of Man and now US, South Africa and Europe.

At the request of the Board, she agreed to continue as a Special Adviser to the Board for the next year to provide the directors with advice, input and assistance during this transition period.
