Chris Corkill has been appointed relationship director for the corporate banking team at the island branch of Santander.

Mr Corkill has more than 30 years’ experience in banking, working with financial institutions in the island, notably in corporate banking and real estate finance.

Since entering banking in the late 1980s as a customer advisor, he has built a career looking after customers, growing businesses, and leading teams, latterly as head of corporate and commercial banking, RBS International, and as a business development manager with Sancus Isle of Man.

James Geldart, managing director, Santander International Isle of Man Branch, said: ’Chris brings a wealth of experience across banking, and a fantastic rapport with clients, colleagues, and the wider community to this role.

Mr Corkill holds a professional banker certificate, a diploma in lending skills, and has completed the foundation standard for professional bankers with the Chartered Institute of Bankers Scotland.

He is a volunteer with Junior Achievement Isle of Man and has served as a finance and professional services committee member for the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce.
