Bank boss Sue Fox is a champion for equality and inclusion in the workplace.
Ms Fox, chief executive of HSBC in the island, has again been recognised for her work on these issues.
For the fourth year she has been included in a global list of business leaders who act as advocates and allies for diversity and inclusion within and outside their businesses.
She said: ‘I am passionate about nurturing an inclusive workplace and being a role model to inspire others to break down barriers to opportunities.
‘I advocate for diversity of experience, thought and culture being the basis for good business and believe that everyone has the right to feel valued, bring their whole self to work and achieve great things because of, and not in spite of, their differences.
‘I am very proud to have been placed on this prestigious list again and am pleased that our work as a bank to encourage diversity and inclusion is making a real difference and gaining recognition.’
Ms Fox quit her job as chief executive of Marks and Spencer Bank to run HSBC Bank’s operations in the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands in February 2019.
Ms Fox is the executive sponsor of HSBC Isle of Man and Channel Islands’ ‘D+I (Diversity and Inclusion) Allies’ group. Within this, a group of self-nominated employees puts on events, training and writes articles to overcome taboos and give colleagues deeper insights, and highlights bias and discrimination (conscious or unconscious).
Last year, she also ran a diversity and inclusion employee webinar where LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) colleagues shared their experience and she emphasised her inclusive work ethic and values, also challenging conscious and unconscious bias.
Suki Sandhu, founder and chief executive of a group called INvolve, said: ‘I’m thrilled to be celebrating another amazing group of LGBT and role models from across the globe who are championing inclusion and inspiring the next generation of talent.’
