The government has launched an online Brexit checklist for food manufacturers.

The checklist provides guidance on dealing with anticipated changes to food exportation from the Isle of Man to the UK and EU.

Geoffrey Boot MHK, Minister for the Environment, Food and Agriculture, said: ’Isle of Man food manufacturers play a large part in our island’s culture and reputation as a high quality food destination through their products, which are sold and consumed worldwide.

’Brexit brings a level of uncertainty to these businesses and it’s important that we help support the industry as much as possible during this period and after Brexit too. The checklist covers a number of areas that may affect a businesses’ trade, which we hope will assist local businesses in preparation for Brexit.’

The Brexit checklist has been produced to ensure that food exporters consider all aspects that may affect their ability to export products and provides advice and links to more detailed guidance.

As more clarity on some areas affecting exports becomes available further information will be added.

The checklist is on the government’s website.
