September and October will be busy for Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce with several big events on the agenda.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK will be the guest speaker at Chamber’s AGM on September 14.

Chamber President Chris Allen will address the audience at the end of what has been a successful first year in office.

The event, sponsored by DQ Advocates, is at The Claremont Hotel.

The popular ‘sector forums’ series – sponsored by Manx Telecom – resume on September 19 after a summer recess.

The series began in February this year and is organised through a partnership between the Isle of Man and Wirral Chambers of Commerce with the main aim being to allow businesses from both regions to share ideas and benefit from networking opportunities.

Each forum focuses on a different sector of the island’s economy.

Construction is the subject of the September 19 forum at the Salmon Lake Centre, Laxey.

The event is free, but booking is essential – email Chamber’s chief operating officer, Rebecca George, at [email protected]

Also on September 19, Sandra Kirkham, managing director of the leading UK training and education provider, Progress to Excellence Group Ltd, will be the guest speaker in the first of a series of new networking events organised by Chamber.

Sandra is also a board member of Wirral Chamber of Commerce.

The event, which is open to Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce members and non-members, will take place at the Chamber’s HQ (Barclays Eagle Lab, Queen Victoria House, Victoria Street, Douglas) from 5pm to 7pm.

Together with Eagle Lab and Bridge Angel Network, Chamber are also hosting a Macmillan coffee morning on September 26.

On October 11 Wirral Chamber is hosting an engineering and manufacturing forum in Wirral.

It is open to Isle of Man Chamber members and non-members and follows a successful engineering and manufacturing forum held here on the island in March.

Isle of Man Chamber members are invited to an audience with Sir Jonathan Michael at Chamber’s HQ on October 15.

Sir Jonathan is leading a review of health and social care on the island.
