The sale of the Castle Mona has been officially completed.
Isle of Man Newspapers reported in May that the former hotel had been sold at auction for £1.21m.
That transaction has now been confirmed by the Sefton Group, however, the identity of the new owner is still shrouded in mystery.
The Sefton Group has confirmed the new owner is an ’unconnected party to the Sefton Group Plc’.
The confirmation comes after a previous supposed sale of the site fell through as the potential new owners failed to raise the necessary funds.
The former hotel has sat empty since it closed suddenly in 2006. The Sefton Group bought it in 2007 but had been trying to sell it for a number of years.
