A church in the heart of Douglas has launched a campaign to promote itself as an ideal venue for business meetings.

Promenade Methodist Church on Loch Promenade is keen to see more business people use the facilities available.

Spokesman Tim Norton said: ’We have a large hall upstairs, as well as several smaller rooms in other parts of the building that would be suitable for meetings, classes, and workshops,’

The church’s upper hall is regularly used by the Association of Corporate Service Providers (ACSP) for speaker meetings.

Antonia King from the ACSP said: ’The Promenade Church staff and volunteers are always so very helpful.

’It is great to have a venue seating up to 200 people in the heart of Douglas.’

Mr Norton said the church has adopted the name ’PromSpace’ and have recently produced a brochure.

Plans are also in hand for a website promoting ’PromSpace’.

This is being written by a student studying computer science at University College Isle of Man in his third year as part of his dissertation. Mr Norton said: ’We’ve been fortunate to secure his services which are of great benefit to the church whilst at the same time enabling him to have a live project to work on for his dissertation.’
