CyberIsle, the island’s annual cyber security conference, is returning to the Villa Marina next week.
Hosted by the Office of Cyber Security and Information Assurance (OCSIA), CyberIsle 2021 will feature speakers and opportunities for the public and private sectors to speak to each other.
OCSIA was established by a Council of Ministers directive in October 2017.
The event is free to attend, and will be held on Tuesday, October 19, between 9.30am and 5.30pm.
There will also be a breakfast networking event starting at 8.30am.
The people who go will be briefed on evolving cyber threats and how they must respond as individuals and within the community to keep the Isle of Man safe in cyberspace.
The event aims to explain what steps can be taken at home, at work and within the community to respond when a cyber-security incident occurs.
Speakers and panel members will include cyber security experts and professionals from across the public and private sectors.
In a statement, OCSIA said: ’Given the likelihood that we will all at some point experience some form of cyber-security incident the conference has as its working title: "Resilience - not if, but when - and then how to recover".
’Attendees will learn about the evolving nature of the cyber security risks and given guidance and information on how best to respond to threats to remain aware, secure and resilient.
’If you run or own a business, you obviously care about it and your staff.
’Make sure you protect your company from cyber attacks and should the worst happen learn how to recover.
’If you work for a company make sure you or someone from your company attends.’
Those interested in attending the free conference can register for a ticket at www.eventbrite.co.uk
