Three new directors have been appointed to Charterhouse Lombard Ltd.

The Ramsey-based fiduciary service provider has promoted existing staff members - Jessica Coutts, Jonathan Leece and Pamela Smith-Hamer - to the positions.

The company says they have been appointed after they made a ’significant’ contribution, particularly the last two years.

Miss Coutts moved to Lombard in 2010. She qualified as an accountant at the firm and now heads the accounting function for both internal and client accounting.

She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is currently deputy chair on the Isle of Man ACCA panel. ’I have really enjoyed my time at the group,’ she said. ’I have seen it change so much and I am really looking forward to continuing our growth phase.’

Mrs Smith-Hamer said: ’To have real independence and be locally owned, we can foster strong long term relationships with our clients.

’We want our clients to feel like they have a personal relationship with people who can make decisions. With our growth plans we are determined that we will continue to value our clients and the relationships we have with them. We will remain a traditional provider of professional services.’

After a short period at a local bank, Mrs Smith-Hamer joined Lombard in 1997 and is the longest-serving member of staff.

Mr Leece joined Lombard in early 2017 after a career in investment management, trust and company, banking and funds with experience of jurisdictions including the UK, Hong Kong, Cayman Islands, Jersey and Guernsey.

He is a past president of the regional Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) and is a Chartered Fellow of CISI and also a Certified Professional Fellow of the International Compliance Association. ’I am delighted to be part of a team that are all pulling in the same direction and share a vision,’ he said.

’The culture we try to create is for everyone to enjoy working at Lombard towards common goals.

’With our growth we have had some great opportunities for our team members to personally grow but also grow our ranks.

’The new additions have given us operational flexibility which helps us service our client’s better.

Chris Broadhead, the chief executive officer, said: ’I am delighted to recognise the commitment of Jess, Jonathan and Pam and that we have added significant weight to the board, both in terms of ideas, experience and different skill sets.

’All three have been a large support to me personally and also have made a significant contribution to the business and the growth we have enjoyed.’

He added that the senior management team had overseen a period of ’unprecedented’ change at Lombard.

’This change has seen a number of successful acquisitions, a rebrand, a change of software responsible for a large part of the delivery of our services, regulatory changes, increase in staffing including inward investment by way of training and professional exams, all while maintaining a profitable organisation,’ he said.
