Dorothy Perkins, Burton and Wallis were all closed today (Tuesday) in the island’s main shopping area.
The doors were locked at women’s clothes shop Dorothy Perkins which shares premises with menswear brand Burton, in Strand Street, Douglas.
And it was the same story at nearby Wallis in Duke Street.
All three shops had been open for business yesterday but fears had been mounting after the failure of fashion empire Arcadia.
Around 20 people were working for the well-known brand name shops in the island.
Online fashion retailer Boohoo has bought the Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Burton brands from failed retail group Arcadia for £25.2m.
The deal includes the brands and online businesses, but not the 214 shops nor 2,450 workers employed in them.
Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia Group collapsed into administration at the start of December.
The news follows the recent ‘permanent’ closure of another Arcadia group casualty, Topshop, with the loss of 11 jobs, in Strand Street, as reported by Isle of Man Newspapers.
