The Capital International Group hosted a successful investment seminar at the Sefton Hotel, Douglas.

The event saw members of the corporate service industry, trustees, intermediaries and independent financial Advisors listen to a fascinating talk by Michael Bell, global market strategist at J.P Morgan.

Mr Bell is responsible for producing research-driven insights on the global economy and markets, and communicating them to institutional and retail clients and the media in the UK and Europe.

Capital were delighted he could join them for this important market update at the beginning of an interesting 2019.

Presenting to a packed room, Michael delivered his ‘guide to the markets’, including insights into current events in US, China and Europe.

The event also saw Capital’s head of equities, James Penn, follow with an overview of bear markets, in his presentation, titled – ‘Anatomy of a Bear’, providing data on significant market events since the 1900s as well as more recent and relevant market events.

Capital is delighted James has rejoined the investment team. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, which will benefit the company’s growing client base.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, James is a CFA Charter holder and is an associate of the Society of Investment Professionals. He joins a qualified team of investment professionals who are dedicated in providing investment service and performance to a wide range of clients.
