Canaccord Genuity’s boss in the island says it is a ’humbling’ experience to be nominated for an award.
Dermot Hamill has been nominated in the category for the top private banker/investment manager of the year for the Isle of Man in the 2019 Citywealth International Finance Centre Awards.
It’s the first time Dermot has been nominated personally for an award, having previously led the team at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management in the Isle of Man to win the investment management company of the year award five years in a row.
He is the only nominee from the Isle of Man to make it to the shortlist.
The award will be announced at a gala dinner in London in January, attended by leading industry figures from across the UK, Europe and Asia.
The Citywealth International Finance Centre Awards were established to highlight the excellence of the advisers and managers in the private wealth sector in the world’s major international financial centres.
The awards, now in their eighth year, are judged by an international panel of practitioners drawn from all private wealth sectors covering the jurisdictions and are presented to those firms who are considered to have excelled in achievement, innovation, expertise and service.
Mr Hamill said: ’It has been a tremendous honour for the last five years to collect an award on behalf of the whole team at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management in the Isle of Man.
’To be nominated now as an individual for one of these prestigious awards, and to be the only wealth manager from the Isle of Man to be shortlisted, is equally exciting and humbling.’
