University College Isle of Man (UCM)has welcomed 14 new members of staff and has seen three internal promotions in the last few months.
In addition to appointment of the new principal Jesamine Kelly, who took up her role at the start of this month, Mona Devereau, Maciej Mirejewski, Roxy Langstaff and Steve Clague have joined UCM’s management team.
Mona joins in a newly formed role as learning and development partner where she will support the development of UCM staff.
Maciej Mirejewski has been appointed as catering manager, leading a team that provides tasty and nutritious hot and cold meals and snacks to more than 1,700 students each day.
There has also been an addition to the caretaking team, with Paul Risker joining at the end of December.
With more than 15 years industry experience, Roxy has joined at marketing manager to lead the organisation’s communication strategy and programme of events.
Steve has been appointment as assistant site manager having worked for the Department of Infrastructure looking after school properties and grounds since 1996.
UCM also welcomes seven new lecturing staff; Dr Adi Shklarsh, lecturer in programming, Andrea Whitaker and Sophie Hinks, lecturers in Health and Social Care, Jadene Kieswetter, lecturer in business administration, Mairead Downey, lecturer in Business, Amy Gale, lecturer in computing and IT and Richard Dennett, lecturer in accountancy.
Senior education support office foundation learning, Lauren Staniford and MIS data officer, Joanne Gray have joined the team.
Finally, following rigorous selection exercises and interviews, and from a very high-quality field of applicants, Andy Patterson was promoted to assistant programme manager, faculty of environment and sustainability, Lesa Fox to assistant programme manager, faculty of wellbeing and Liza Nicholson to assistant programme manager, faculty of creative and leisure industries.
Commenting on the appointments, Jesamine Kelly said: ’I’m pleased to be welcoming a cohort of new staff to UCM at a really exciting time.
