The team at Marks and Spencer has been shortlisted for the Retail Week Awards 2021.
They are in the running for the Frontline Hero - store team award, in recognition of the role they played in the Manx Government’s response to Covid-19.
It has emerged that the Douglas shop advised civil servants on process and policy from M&S and the British Retail Consortium.
Hosting a conference call with other retailers, M&S Douglas shared best practice guidance on the safe reopening of stores, at the request of the UK’s Department for Business and also helped to trial the return of services in store for M&S more broadly.
Ross Kitson, store manager at M&S Douglas said: ’I am immensely proud of my colleagues and am excited that we have been recognised at this year’s Retail Week Awards.
’Each and every colleague has risen to the many challenges faced during the pandemic, embraced changes to hours and responsibilities, and have worked hard to support fellow colleagues and our customers during this uncertain period.
’We’re thankful to our customers for their feedback and positivity and hope that they will join us in being proud of making the shortlist for such a prestigious award.’
One of 10 teams nominated, the store will find out if they are the winners of the Frontline Hero - Store Team award on June 3, 2021.
Other teams nominated for the award include Boots in Piccadilly Circus, London.
Retail Week is a news outlet for the retail trade.
