A company that works with online gaming companies around the world is taking on 10 people to join its team in the island.

The recruitment drive coincides with Jade Zorab being appointed managing director at Amber Gaming.

Mrs Zorab is determined to carry on flying the Isle of Man plc flag and said : ’It is a privilege to be appointed to the position of managing director, especially at such an exciting point.’

The busy business, based at Clinch’s House, Lord Street, Douglas, already employs 33 people and this will shortly be boosted by 10 more people.

Mrs Zorab said eight have already been appointed with the final two set to be taken on soon.

Mrs Zorab said: ’I will be starting my new journey (as managing director) with the support of 33 talented peers who are each instrumental to our success, and with the appointment of 10 new recruits to support our growing international business, with many exciting plans on the horizon.

’Despite global circumstances, there continues to be a growing demand for our services, and this provides us with continued optimism for the outlook of the gaming sector.

’I look forward to building on our current success using our established values and excellent service delivery to exceed the demands and expectations of both our clients and team.’

Amber Gaming is involved in various areas including multi-jurisdictional licensing, regulatory compliance, training and esports.

Mrs Zorab said it was important to be innovative and the company was in the process of launching a specialist forensic services division, headed up by Peter Allwright.

Business News has recently reported that there has been growth within the e-gaming sector over the past year, in terms of both revenue from licence applications, and job creation through growth of on-island businesses.

The past 12 months have seen an increase too in the number of applications for e-gaming licences.

The Gambling Supervision Commission said it had been dealing with the highest number of licences that the island has supervised at one time, currently 55, with several more in the pipeline.

This represented a 30% increase on the previous year.

Mrs Zorab said the level of the company’s growth was down to its reputation which was ’absolutely fantastic’.

She said Amber Gaming works well with the Gambling Supervision Commission.

Daphne Caine, the MHK responsible for gaming, recently told Business News that e-gaming ’contributes 17.6% to the island’s GDP and the licences that the Gambling Supervision Commission processes are a huge part of that and it was fantastic to see the high volume of applications now being processed and as we continue to look forward, the numbers remain strong and consistent’.

lMrs Zorab holds a bachelor of Laws degree issued by the University of South Africa and a diploma in international marketing Management.

She is also actively involved in the Isle of Man community as a member of the Institute of Directors and is a trustee of Love Tech, a charity that was founded to encourage and empower young women to explore STEM opportunities in the Isle of Man.
