Isle of Man-based Gecko Corporate Services Ltd is celebrating 10 years in business with a move to new offices in Douglas.

The company has moved to Atlantic House in Circular Road as it looks to build on the continued growth it has enjoyed.

Gecko delivers offshore corporate services and a range of tailored corporate ’solutions’ to clients large and small.

The firm is led by directors Adrian Hall and Mark Muller.

’Reaching 10 years in any business can be tough, and we are pleased to have achieved this milestone with a growth in our client base and a move to new offices,’ said Adrian, an associate of the Chartered Institute of Company Secretaries.

Gecko offers the full range of corporate services to private clients and professional firms, and actively promotes the Isle of Man as the jurisdiction of choice when it comes to offshore services, as Adrian explained: ’The Isle of Man has weathered the storms of the worldwide crackdown on offshore havens and negative press in recent times, and has come out the other side in a strengthened position.

’Regulatory legislation, such as GDPR, gives our clients comfort that their personal information, as well as their business, is in safe hands.’

Gecko nurtures a culture of wellbeing at the office, with half the staff working part-time and/or term-time, with the ability to work from home. Adrian said: ’We encourage the family-friendly working practices and find that we attract and retain highly skilled and experienced staff.’

Two recent appointments to the Gecko team are Samantha Thompson, who joins Gecko as the client accountant, working on the company accounts and VAT returns; and Jess Marsay, who is new to the office environment and has quickly shone as a junior administrator responsible for payment processing and company files.

Mark was born in South Africa, where he trained as an accountant with Ernst & Young, before moving into management, which brought him to the Isle of Man.

He said: ’We have a small, focused team of technically strong and experienced individuals, who have developed strong links over the last decade with insurance, legal, accountancy and audit firms. They have provided us with the solid base from which to build and grow.’

Mark added: ’Our team enjoys strong relationships with island-based banks - RBSI and Barclays in particular - and a wide scope of business partners built on understanding and trust.

’We are proud to have a family orientated company with friendly and efficient service, ensuring that our clients benefit from our team’s wide knowledge base. Our work ethic is driven by trust, commitment to excellence, compliance with our regulatory and industry framework and a friendly work environment. We put great stock in the need for a company to look after its staff and always look to encourage a healthy work-life balance.

’We are excited to celebrate our first decade in business and look forward to a future of steady growth and nurturing the core values we hold dear.’
