George Walmsley has been called to the Manx Bar having passed his exams on his first attempt.

He was sworn in as an Isle of Man advocate by the island’s First Deemster Andrew Corlett.

Mr Walmsley joined Cains in August 2018, having achieved a distinction in his Legal Practice Course at the BPP University Law School in Liverpool. Prior to that he obtained a first-class honours degree in law and politics at the University of Lancaster.

He works within Cains’ top tier corporate and commercial department and assists with advising on corporate matters including banking and debt finance, mergers and acquisitions, asset finance and property finance.

He said: ‘I am very grateful for the support and guidance I have received from my colleagues at Cains, which has been instrumental in helping me to reach this point in my career. I am looking forward to my next chapter at Cains.’
