An important compliance conference will be held in the island next week with the support of Grant Thornton.

The Athol Street based accounting and audit company is the headline sponsor for the joint event organised by ’Great Chatwell Academy of Learning’ and Intelect, the island based investigations, training and data security consultancy.

The event will be attended by around 70 risk and compliance professionals from around the island.

Enterprise Minister Laurence Skelly will open the conference which is being hosted at the iMuseum in Douglas on Tuesday. (September 18).

Experts in anti-money laundering, blockchain, cryptocurrency, data security and due diligence are among the speakers.

It will be followed by a two-day workshop at the same venue designed to provide delegates with an opportunity to enhance their forensic customer due diligence skills and knowledge.

During the workshop attendees will also enjoy hands-on learning through training programme ’Data Security in the Workplace’, providing an additional interactive experience.

Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Isle of Man Code Club.
