A family have been trying to sell a three-star hotel in the island for six years without success.
The Welbeck on Mona Drive, Douglas, has been run by the George family for more than 40 years.
Michael George, who runs the hotel with his wife Irene, stressed the business remains ’very much open for business’.
He said that for four years they had tried to sell the hotel ’in a quiet way, under the counter’.
This bid failed so then they put the place on the market through more traditional methods in the last two years.
The hotel is listing for £1.5m with Deanwood.
Mr George said that while he and his wife are still looking for a change they remain committed to the hotel owned by his mother.
He said any future owner will find it ’rewarding’ and every day is different in the hospitality trade.
This year had been difficult because of lockdown but the hotel and restaurant has been open again since June 22.
There are 27 en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant and six one bed and one two bed apartments.
