The island’s rate of inflation was at 0.2% in November, according to the latest Consumer Prices Index.

This excludes air and sea fares, which if included, would make the rate stand at -2.5%.

The CPI shows that the biggest contributor to this increase in the rate of inflation is Recreation and culture, leading to an increase of 0.9% to the overall 12-month rate.

Miscellaneous goods and services are the second biggest contributor to the increase in rate of inflation, leading to a 0.5% increase in the overall rate.

Education and furniture, household equipment and maintenance contributed to a 0.1% increase in the overall rate.

Main increases were domestic help (15.2%), driving lessons (+11.1%), pre-school fees (8.2%) and postage (8.8%).
