The Isle of Man’s Financial Services industry won two gongs at the 2021 ’International Investment’ Awards, which were held recently.

The island was named ’Best International Finance Centre’ for the fourth time in the past five years.

Finance Isle of Man also won joint first place with RL360 in the ’International Campaign of the Year’ category for the ’Captive Isle of Man’ campaign. This was delivered in association with the Isle of Man Captive Association, an organisation dedicated to the progression and development of insurance management companies in the island.

Additionally, island-based companies won multiple awards including David Kneeshaw, Group CEO of IFLG, winning Personality of the Year (Industry) Award for the second year.

Michael Crowe, CEO of government agency Finance Isle of Man, said: ’The Isle of Man has always been proactive and at the forefront of global finance.

’We are proud to be a jurisdiction of choice for private clients and intermediaries across the world.

’The Best International Centre award reflects the collaborative work of the industry, the government and the regulator to create the right business environment and make the Isle of Man a great place to do business.

Simon Pickering, head of insurance and pensions for Finance Isle of Man, added: ’We are an island that doesn’t stand still and we are constantly looking at how we can support and develop our already established financial sector. With our insurance industry making up more than 19% of GDP, we are collaborating with stakeholders to develop a very appealing Insurtech innovation hub.

I am delighted to receive the award for the Campaign of the Year. It was a five-month collaboration with the Captive Association and the industry champions on creating new and insightful content.’
