The managing director of UK training and education provider, Progress to Excellence Group, is the guest speaker in the first of a series of new networking events organised by Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce.
Sandra Kirkham, who is the managing director of Progress To Excellence Group Ltd, will be visiting the island on Wednesday, September 19.
The Group is made up of a number of subsidiaries that work across the UK to promote social and economic mobility by offering quality training and education to employers and individuals.
Sandra is also a board member of Wirral Chamber of Commerce, which has developed close links with the Isle of Man Chamber following a successful series of ‘sector forum’ events during 2018.
The forums – sponsored by Manx Telecom – focus on a different sector of the island’s economy each month, all targeted at building links between business sectors on the island and in the Liverpool City Region
Rebecca George, chief operating officer, Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce, said: ‘Many of our members have asked for more opportunities to network, so this Autumn we are launching a new series of events to do that.
‘We want the networking events to offer members the chance to hear directly from industry experts, and build on our relationship with the Wirral Chamber of Commerce, so we are delighted that Sandra has agreed to be our first guest speaker and we’re very grateful that this event is being sponsored by 3FM.
‘Training and education is so important in every sector, and especially on the island where many businesses need to address skills gaps in order to support growth. We’re really looking forward to hearing Sandra’s views and expert insight.’
The networking events are open to members and non-members and all will take place at the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce HQ (Barclays Eagle Lab, Queen Victoria House, Victoria Street, Douglas).
The first event on September 19 takes place from 5pm to 7pm.
To book tickets go to the ‘Events’ page of www.iomchamber.org.im or just click here – the Chamber website will also be updated when details are confirmed about forthcoming network events scheduled for November 29, February 28, April 25 and June 20.
