Independent law firm Cains has been nominated for ’Offshore: Firm of the Year’ at the The Legal 500 UK Awards 2020.
Cains is understood to be the only Isle of Man company to be named as a finalist within the offshore category and sits among six of the best law firms in the international financial centres.
Now in their sixth year, The Legal 500 UK Awards recognise each element of the profession equally, representing the very best law firms, chambers, silks, in-house lawyers, business leaders and general counsel operating within the UK and crown dependency markets.
The shortlist is selected from those law firms that have most impressed The Legal 500 research team over the past 12 months for contributions to a particular business sector or practice area.
The 2020 awards, which take place on Thursday, February 27 in London, follow on from the publication in September of the legal directory’s 2020 rankings which, once again, saw Cains achieve ’Tier One’ rankings across all of its key practice areas for the 10th consecutive year.
In addition, 13 Cains lawyers also gained recognition by being named as either ’leading individuals,’ ’next generation lawyers’ or ’rising stars’.
Peter Clucas, managing director of Cains, said: ’We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for Offshore Firm of the Year by The Legal 500. This reinforces not only our achievements over the last 12 months, but also the excellent client service which we consistently provide to our clients.’
The 2020 directory cited a significant amount of feedback from clients, with endorsements describing Cains as ’at the forefront of the Manx legal scene’ and ’providing practical and commercial solutions when required on complex matters’. Clients also stated that "the team is knowledgeable, responsive and easy to work with, making it a go-to firm for all Isle of Man legal queries."
