Law firm Quinn Legal has launched its own training academy.
It is designed to support individuals and businesses on a range of topics from complex regulatory issues to leadership and personal development skills.
And the initiative is already proving a hit among business professionals eager to up their compliance game and safeguard their reputation.
The founder of the business in Ridgeway Street, Douglas, James Quinn, developed the training academy with Kerry Smith, head of regulatory and compliance, in direct response to the deepening intricacies of the regulatory system, something which has growing implications for regulated businesses of all shapes and sizes.
Mrs Smith said: ’We are delighted to launch this service to provide support for regulated businesses dealing with the application of regulatory laws and codes.
’As lawyers we understand the theory of the law and through the work we do we have built up extensive knowledge of its application in practice day to day.’
She added: ’The requirements around data protection, anti money laundering and corporate governance are creating very real challenges for business on the island.
’The Quinn Legal Training Academy has been established to help people understand what they must do, how they can achieve that in reality and mitigate their business risk.’
The training kickstarted with advanced data protection for data protection officers (DPO), which was delivered by advocate and trainer Peter Cannell.
It launches with more than a dozen courses, featuring topics from data protection to corporate governance and anti-money laundering. Further courses will be added in the coming weeks.
Training is delivered by Quinn Legal’s specialist advocates and experts, all of whom work with the subject matter on a day-to-day basis and are experienced training providers.
