Problems with GDPR and how to solve them will be the subject of a lunchtime seminar in the island next week.

GDPR, otherwise known as General Data Protection Regulation, was implemented in the summer of 2018.

The Association of Corporate Service Providers’ DQ-sponsored seminar is taking place on on Thursday, November 14.

It is entitled ’Ongoing GDPR problems and how to solve them’ and will be with Leanne McKeown, a director of DQ Advocates and head of the law firm’s employment team.

She will consider the impact of GDPR 18 months in , with reference to questions such as:

How do you handle ’nuisance’ subject access requests?

lWhen is a request manifestly unfounded or excessive?

l Can employees insist on having their photos deleted from websites and brochures?

l Can you give references without breaching consent rules?

Leanne McKeown is an employment lawyer, who regularly advises on all areas of employment and equality law and related litigation.

She also provides support to DQ’s corporate and commercial team in relation to employment and/or immigration matters arising in corporate transactions.

She is described in The Legal 500 as ’a highly skilled lawyer with excellent presentation ability and a ’very savvy and vibrant litigator’.
